• Never boot your PC from a floppy disk unless you are certain that it is clean and free from viruses.
• Use the write protect tab to prevent viruses copying themselves onto floppy disks.
• Always use licenced copies of software obtained from a reputable source.
• Use passwords on your PC to prevent unauthorised copying of files in your absence.
• Make regular backup copies of your work and system files and store them securely.
• Make a copy of Partion and Boot sector of your hard disk using RESCUE of Norton Utilities
• Install and make regular use a regular anti-virus software such as Norton AntiVirus.
• Make sure that it is regularly updated to take account of new viruses and variants.
